SET BOOT CAMP Swim Lessons Overview

BOOT CAMP Swim Lessons $175: (8) 25 Min Classes; Levels 1-3 (All Ages)

  1. This is the swim lesson program that will get your child swimming on their own.
  2. Repetition of basic skills with individual attention brings rapid results.

How it works:

  1. Register for Boot Camp Swim Lessons (Instructor for every 4-6 swimmers). Young children must wear a swim diaper, even if they are potty trained.
  2. On the first day of class, your child will be evaluated in the pool by trained staff and placed in appropriate level by ability and age.
  3. Your child will learn at his or her own pace with individual instruction. All swimmers will be promoted to the next level as soon as they have successfully learned techniques. They will not have to wait for the next session or be held back by other swimmers as staff is evaluating progress and promoting swimmers who are ready on a daily basis.
  4. Your child will be in the pool the entire class with several instructors, which is key to building self-confidence and comfort in the water. This proven method helps children overcome fear, have more fun and learn more quickly
  5. Register for multiple sessions to secure a space. Swimmers who are promoted mid-session will be moved up and transferred to the next level at no additional cost. All children learn at different paces. Some will require multiple sessions of a level depending on comfort in the water and age (older children learn faster).
  6. Swimmers who have completed Level 3 or have equivalent skill will be ready for SET Stroke Clinic Swim Level 5 or higher. When your child is ready, they will be transferred up to the Stroke Clinic program for the remainder of the session at no additional cost.

  5. Assisted front kick & back kick to and from wall (3-4 feet).

Level 2: Beginner Freestyle & Backstroke

  1. Independent streamline and back kick (10-15 feet).
  2. Independent Freestyle and Backstroke (10-15 feet).
  3. Basic Kicking: Flutter and Dolphin.
  4. Blow bubble out nose for proper breathing.

Level 3: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breathing Half Length

  1. Independent Freestyle and Backstroke (half-length to full length of pool).
  2. Breathing technique, freestyle with bi-lateral breathing.
  3. Advanced underwater streamline on front and back to stoke.
  4. Intro to breaststroke kick and treading water (egg-beater kick).

Help determine the best program for your child:

  1. If your child is already able to swim on their own, with their face in the water, and know basic freestyle / backstroke, please register for Rec Swim Program.
  2. If you are unsure if your child should be in Boot Camp or Rec Swim, register for Boot Camp Level 3 as we will promote mid-session, at no additional cost, as soon as they are ready.
  3. All swimmers are welcome to an evaluation at any Boot Camp or Rec Swim Class, 10 minutes prior to the start time. See a coach. No appointment necessary.
