CSA offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of CSA to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities. You must REGISTER with the TEAM before practicing!
PERSONAL GEAR REQUIRED: appropriate swim suit (swim shirts/wet suits are not allowed during practice. Boys should be in jammers or briefs, girls should wear a one piece practice suit), Cap is required for those with long hair.
NEW***Check out required equipment below for each training group. EACH SWIMMER should keep acquire their own equipment and bring to each practice. Items located at the CWAC are not to be counted on for this season. Recommend a mesh bag and labelling your personal equipment.
Practice is in the heated outdoor pool until it's just too cold or when the Aquatics Director closes the outdoor pool.
For all practices, be punctual and leave the pool deck better than you found it.
General team rules:
1) The coaches are not responsible for your children before practice starts. Do not drop off young children early! Have a chat with your kids about appropriate behavior on the pool deck. The "Bucket Pool" is not to be entered.
2) No interaction between parents and swimmers, or parents and coaches during practice unless it's an emergency or absolutely necessary. Discussions with coaches should be scheduled around their availabilty. Parents can observe from the deck, go for a walk, work out, etc.
3) Remind your kids to throw away trash and collect all of their belongings

Outdoor pool September 2 - Oct ?
Indoor pool ~October?-February- will start at 4 pm. This move indoors is dependent on the weather and the CWAC Aquatics Director. The pool is smaller so some group adjustment are to be expected. Check your email or news listing for the latest updates.

Blue Group This group is for our youngest novice swimmers. Limited to 5-6 swimmers, coaches will focus on basic skills.
Bronze Group Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and developing start and turn technique. Typically, Bronze has swimmers age 6-10, or very new, older swimmers.
Silver Group From the Bronze group, athletes move into this group. Practices include more advanced training techniques, interval training, and some dryland workouts. Silver Group has swimmers age 9-12 and should have 4 legal strokes. Gold Group Minimum age for entry into this group is 11 (girls) or 12 (boys) and should have 4 legal strokes. Athletes entering the Gold group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. Athletes in the Gold group swimmers are directed towards making Southeastern, Sectional, and Jr National Time Standards. High School Supplemental Swimmers who are on a high school team during the USA swim season may participate one day/week in their respective practice group. Participation in meets is not required.
