Meet Format:

1.  Parents will enter directly into the concourse doors or through the lobby.  No parents are allowed on the pool deck unless they are acting as a counter for their swimmer.  Those parents should check-in at the coaches, volunteer, and swimmer entrance prior to the event.

 

2. Arrival times & warm-ups

Please make sure to check which days and sessions your child will swim.  You may view your events on the website under Events where you signed up for the meet.  If you have any trouble viewing this, or have any questions, please email Coach Erin at [email protected]. The building will open 15 minutes prior to the beginning of warm-ups.

 

Thursday Open Warm-ups, Distance Session (1500 LCM FR), and other information: 

  • Thursday Open Warm-Up at HSA Competition Pool: MSA will warm-up as a team from 2:45-4:15pm on Thursday night. We will not have the new SES t-shirts with us on Tuesday, we do apologize that they will not be on time for SES. We will intend to hand them out the week of the 28th (more info to come for that week).

  • During the duration of the meet: 13&O may NOT use the Lecagy pool for any reason (except Finals), they must use the Therapy pool. Additionally, 12&U may NOT use the Competition pool AND Therapy pool for warm-ups for any reason (except finals), they must use the designated lane in the Legacy pool which will be open as warmup/cooldown during the meet.

  • Sunday 13&O Girls and Boys 1500 Free will be swum combined as 13&Over but scored separately as 13-14 and Open. These events will be swum slow to fast alternating Girls/Boys and planned to end with the fastest heat of Boys 1500 Free leading right into the start of Sunday Finals warmup (approx 3:45pm). Start time TBA depending on the number of heats. Swimmers must provide a timer and a counter. 

  • All 10&Under events will be Timed Finals swum slowest to fastest with the exception of the 400 FR.

  • All 11&Over individual events will be Prelims/Finals, except for 1500 meter Freestyles and the 11&12 400 Free. 

  • The 13-14 and Open Age Group 400 meter IM and 400 meter Freestyle events will be swum fast to slow in prelims alternating Girls/Boys. 

  • 11-12, 13-14, and Open events will swim final and consolation final heats (top 16 prelims finishers). 

  • Check-in for all deck seeded events are due by the beginning of the session.

  • ANY SWIMMER WHO MISSES THEIR RACE IN THE FINALS ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY WILL BE PREVENTED FROM SWIMMING IN THEIR NEXT RACE. ANY SWIMMER WHO MISSES THEIR RACE IN THE FINALS ON SUNDAY WILL BE PENALIZED $25.

  • SWIMMERS ARE EXPECTED TO SCRATCH FROM FINALS, NOT COACHES.

  • There will be no chase starts for the meet. Legacy pool will start all events from the diving well end. Competition pool will start all events from the window end, except 50s will start from flag end.

Team Gear:

Athletes must wear the following:

  • Goggles and MSA SES Cap

  • Team suit or tech suit

  • 2025 SES LC Team Shirt will be worn on Saturday for a team picture 

Let’s really do our best to look like a team by wearing our MSA gear.

Additional Notes: IMPORTANT

  • No folding or camping chairs allowed in facility

  • Heat sheets will not be for sale.  They are attached and will be available on the MSA website as they are released & posted in a timely manner.

  • If your swimmer wishes to have their events written on them, please do so before arriving at the pool for each session.

  • Emergency services will be on site at the meet

  • Concessions will be available throughout the meet

  • Saturn Sports will be onsite for all of your swim apparel needs.

  • All parking will be on-site

  • Check-in for all deck seeded events are due by the beginning of the session

  • Athlete locker rooms are located on the deck.  Restrooms for coaches, officials, and volunteers are in the main entrance area.

  • SCRATCH RULES FOR PRELIM/FINALS EVENTS: Swimmers qualifying for finals or consolation finals must notify the Clerk of Course within 30 minutes of the announcement of the qualifiers for that final that they may not intend to compete. They must further declare their final intention to scratch within 30 minutes of the posting of the last preliminary event of the session or they will be seeded into the event. Scratches must be given to the Clerk of Course. Any swimmer failing to properly scratch and failing to compete in a deck seeded event or in a consolation finals or finals event shall be barred from their next eligible event unless relieved for good cause by the Referee. The penalty for failing to properly scratch and failing to compete in a Sunday evening consolation final or final event is a $25 fine. 

  • AWARDS: Awards will be provided by Southeastern Swimming.

 • Medals will be given for 1st-8th place for individual events and 1st-4th for relays. Medals will not be mailed out for any reason. Coaches should pick up awards at the end of the meet.

 • Banner will be awarded for the top scoring team in combined category (all relays scored in this category). 

• “Best All Around” award will be awarded to the top scoring individual for each age group for both girls and boys. 

• Plaque will be awarded to age group team champions of each gender based on total individual points and the single highest-ranking relay. 


 

Remember, all swimmers, parents, and coaches are representing MSA so let’s put forth an excited and friendly demeanor.  We encourage parents and friends attending the meet to sit together to help support our athletes together!
