COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 15, 2012) – On June 18, USA Swimming will launch free online Safe Sport programming for the parents of its 300,000 athlete members. The online programming, created by online education leader Praesidium, will empower parents with information about sexual abuse prevention. RECENTLY, USA Swimming has contacted the online swimming community to help get the word out about rules for logos on caps at the U.S. Olympic Trials later this month. The meet, which takes place completely under USOC rules, will require much stricter adherence to logo placement on caps. USA Swimming has relaxed its rules in the past years to allow swimmers more sponsorship real estate in terms of caps, but will have to enforce the stricter USOC rules in Omaha. Each year USA Swimming selects athletes to become members of the USA Swimming – Scholastic All-American (SAA)Team. The program is open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors that have a 3.5 GPA and have attained the specified time standard in a single event. The program also has specific qualification standards for Disability Athletes and Open Water swimmers. This year’s application process will be entirely on-line through the USA Swimming website. The student athlete will be required to upload a complete transcript from both semesters of the 2011-2012 school year....

Florida Swimming will present two $1,000.00 awards to one male and one female Florida Swimming / USA Swimming athlete member, in 2012.
