Border Swimming Inc. (BD) is a 501c3 organization chartered in the State of Texas and is governed by an all volunteer Board of Directors.
Border Swimming, Inc. (BD) is a Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming, Inc, the National Governing Body for competitive swimming. Border is 1 of 59 LSC's in the country. Specifically, BD is the administrative arm of USA Swimming in the counties of El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson, Jeff Davis, Presidio, Brewster, Terrell, and Crockett, all in the State of Texas. BD is also a member of the Southern Zone of USA Swimming which is composed of 15 LSC's. Currently, BD has about 1000 registered athletes and 7 teams.
BD holds monthly meetings, second Wednesday of the month, of the Board of Directors. These meetings are open to the public and posted on the calendar for time and location. The Board is responsible for the administration and governance of the LSC in accordance with its bylaws and policies. The LSC holds an annual House of Delegates meeting in August.
