Sara Smith: Co-Head Coach
I am so excited to be your head coach! I am Sara Smith.  My husband and I have two beautiful little girls, ages 2 & 1.  I have lived in North Georgia off and on for the majority of my life. I work at UGA and am pursuing my Ph.D in Mass Communication.  I started competitively swimming at the age of three and swam for 20 years. Breaststroke and Butterfly are my favorites. I have coached for a decade and taught swim lessons for over 20 years, needless to say, I absolutely love the water. I hope I can not only help your child be a better swimmer but to fall more in love with the sport! We have an amazing coaching staff, and we look forward to getting to know your child better this summer.
Elizabeth "Liz" Blanco: Co-Head Coach
Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth Blanco and I'm a Junior at UGA. I am from Roswell, Georgia and I’ve always loved swimming and love coaching even more. I'm super excited if you couldn't tell :).  I’ve been coaching for 7 years, including 5 years of coaching year round swimming.  I started coaching summer league as an assistant my freshman year of high school. The past 5 years I have been a head coach for summer league teams. I coached at the Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club for 2 years & still coach there over breaks when I am home. I competitively swam for Chattahoochee for 6 years, making it to the national group. Currently, I am a lead coach at ABSC and it is my third year working there. Emilia Mohorn: Assistant Coach
Hi! My name is Emilia Mohorn. I am excited to be returning for my third season as an assistant coach for TGC swim team! I'm a second year finance and international business major at UGA. Growing up, I swam competitively for TIDE from ages 9-16 and for my high school swim team all 4 years. I’m currently a swimmer for the Club Swim Team at UGA and love to be in the water! Throughout my career, I’ve come across fantastic coaches who taught me so much both in and out of the pool. I'm so excited to give back my skills and knowledge to the next generation. Austin Applestone: Assistant Coach
Hello! My name is Austin Applestone and I am excited to return as an assistant coach for TGC Little Dogs this year! I am a Junior at UGA majoring in mechanical engineering.  I swam for around 13 years competitively on a summer league team and for 3 years on a year round team. Currently, I am a member of the UGA Water Polo Club Team. I’ve been a Junior and Assistant Coach for 2 years on my past summer league swim team, where I taught all ages. My favorite stroke is breastroke and the main thing I am looking forward to in coaching is to do my best to help every swimmer get a little bit faster!
