The Open Water Swimming Olympic Marathon distance, the 10K, was contested today. The athletes enjoyed beautiful weather on the final day of competition. Two good races swam! The men's race started and ended with a pack of nine swimmers going the distance together. Officials review of the finish video was necessary to determine places 4-9. Open Water Update from September 27th: Saturday is a recovery day for those athletes that swam the 5K and a training day for those athletes that are only swimming the 10K. Teams will have an opportunity to practice in the morning at a local swimming pool and in the afternoon on the competition lake.
