Along with Megan Melgaard Dynamo’s own Maria Thrash is going to impart some of her knowledge in a Pool Open Water (POW) clinic.POW is open water swimming in a pool, combining the joys, challenges and excitement of traditional open water swimming with the convenience of a pool.
The clinic will focus on drafting, sighting, starts, position and buoy turns that are critical open water skills. It takes place on Sunday, March 14th from 1-3:00 pm at the Chamblee Dynamo location.Additional underwater stroke video analysis is available from 12-1:00 and 3-4:00 pm.Please call 404.936.2731 or email [email protected]to register in advance.

Series 2 will run from March 1st through April 29th.There will be a one-week break from March 22nd through March 28th.As the race season begins our intensity mix will increase while we maintain a portion of the program on skill development.
Mondays will be a Base Skill session. The emphasis will be on skill and strength development, specifically emphasizing pedaling technique through various drills. We will couple these drills with more sustained aerobic level strength work to help lay a solid aerobic foundation for later in the season.
Wednesdays will be Base Intensity sessions. While the emphasis will still be on aerobic level intensities, we will add some intensity effort in the form of tempo intervals, threshold intervals and inserting our (in)famous Stomp and Ghost Interval sets to complement aerobic work.
Fridays will provide a mix of earlier sessions. The Friday class will allow athletes the opportunity to individually choose between a skill session and an intensity session.
