Hello LAC Families,

A couple of things to pass along to you:

There will be a parent’s meeting this upcoming Monday evening September 18, 2023 from 6:00 - 6:30pm. This will be your opportunity to ask questions about the season, the structure of the team, and any other questions that you may have. The Crosswhites will be present to answer any questions you may have for them.
There will be no practice next Saturday, September 23. Good luck to all of our swimmers that will be swimming at Smith Mountain Lake that weekend. If you are interested in competing in the Smith Mountain Lake swim, the deadline to register is Monday. You can register for this event here.
Please use this link to order your team swim suit. We are partnering with Arena to be able to provide extra equipment throughout the season. If you order through this link by September 24, I will be able to hand deliver your swimsuits to you before the October 1st Intrasquad meet.
Our intrasquad meet is scheduled for October 1st, 2023. There are a couple of things that I need to cover with all of you:
1. With us working to sanction our swim meet so that times will count for future USA Swimming competitions, all swimmers that wish to participate in the meet will need to be registered with USA Swimming. Please use this link to register your swimmers with USA Swimming. If you registered as a full member last season, your registration is good until 12/31/2023. Any registration done at this point, will be good through 12/31/2024.
2. We will need volunteers to make this intrasquad meet work. We will need officials, 3 timers per lane and other volunteers. Please be on the lookout for a signup for meet volunteers soon.
3. We will take a team picture at 3:15pm at the Crosswhite pool on October 1st, 2023. Please wear this year’s team shirt for the picture, (expect delivery before October 1}.. After the team picture is taken, we will begin warmups for the intrasquad meet. The plan is to start the intrasquad meet at 4:00pm on October 1, 2023.
4. At the conclusion of the swim meet, we would like to invite everyone to join us for a potluck social. More information on what your family should bring will follow soon.
We are making a concerted effort to recognize the accomplishments of our swimmers throughout the year. For this to be done, we would like to get individual pictures of your swimmer. We will plan for individual pictures to be taken on Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd. There will be a 4:30pm time slot and a 6:15pm time slot on both days. Please use this google form to select the time slot that works the best for you and your swimmers. Once again, please plan to wear this year’s team shirt.
