Ashley is excited to return for her second year as Co-Director of the SRA Swordfish! She loves all things Southampton and can't wait to watch this team excel in the pool and support each other on deck throughout the season. We have another amazing summer ahead of us! Strength & Honor!  

Kati Batten
Swim Team Co-Director

Kati is excited to join Ashley as a Co-Director this year.  She has been cheering on the swordfish for the last 11 years and is looking forward to guiding new parents and swimmers in their attempt to understand why it is we talk about Jell-O so much.  It is never too early in the swim season to purchase sugar-free Jell-O.

Mike Peters
Head Coach

Mike Peters, our Head Coach, returns to Southampton for his 23rd season! A native New Yorker and a graduate of Brown University, Mike competed on a national level on the Brown swim team and has coached on the high school, college, and US Swimming levels. Mike is a math teacher at The Collegiate School and the Head Coach for Collegiate’s swim program.  Mike also coaches the Collegiate Golf Team.

Emily Sultan
Assistant Head Coach

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to return for my 8th summer coaching my favorite team. After swimming for SRA for 12 years, I feel so lucky to still be a part of such a great community. During the year I teach 5th grade at Alberta Smith Elementary, and this year I was fortunate to be able to help coach the JV swim team at Collegiate. Let’s have another amazing summer of swimming and fun!  

Ann Tanner Mullins
Assistant Swim Coach

Ann Tanner is going on her third year of coaching. She is currently a senior a Trinity Episcopal School and is a captain of the Swim & Dive team. She has been swimming for Southampton for 13 years and has been swimming year-round at Poseidon. In her free time, she loves to go to the gym, spend time at the pool, and be with her family and friends. She is so excited to return as a coach this year!

Annie Mears
Assistant Swim Coach

Annie is a Senior at Freeman High School and plans to study at 4-year university in the fall. She has been a Southampton Swordfish since she was 8. Annie enjoys spending time with family and friends, painting, hiking, and being outdoors. She is extremely excited to be returning this summer as a second-year coach!

Liam Harbour
Assistant Swim Coach

Liam is a rising second-year student at the University of Virginia. He’s super excited to be back coaching and cannot wait for another amazing summer!

Reid Hogeland
Assistant Swim Coach

Reid is a rising second-year student at the University of Virginia. After three years as a lifeguard, he joined the SRA swim team for his senior season and has loved every moment of being part of the SRA community. He is excited to return this summer and help the younger swimmers grow, improve, and build on their own love for the sport!

William 'Lofty' Loftin
Assistant Swim Coach

Lofty graduated from Benedictine college prep in May of 2024 and just completed his freshman year at Virginia Military Institute where he is a member of the swim team. Lofty joined the SRA swim team at the age of 5 and swam for SRA for 14 years. Lofty  is thrilled to get to help coach the team this summer. 

Piper Price
Assistant Swim Coach

Piper is a senior at Monacan High School and will be attending the University of Delaware in the fall to be a part of their swim team. She has been a Southampton Swordfish since she was 4 years old. Piper enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and baking. She is super excited for her first year as a coach!
