OFF SEASON UPDATES
A NOTE FROM OUR DIRECTOR COACH AMANDA-
I have decided we need to gear up with Weekly Updates to keep everyone in the loop as Season 7 is quickly approaching! Who is excited for summer??? Anyone that knows me, knows that I live for the sunshine!! This email is designed to help you stay up to date with all that’s going on in the life of Wave Cheer! I hope you find it helpful each week! I am so excited for Season 7 as SO many new faces have come through the doors, and of course, we miss the athletes SOOO much when we are not seeing them every week! I pray that you all embrace the end of the school season as you walk into summer. Please join us in prayer as we pray for all that is to come for Season 7!
THURSDAY PARENT INTEREST MEETING
Thursday evening, 5/11, at 7pm at Wave Great Neck we have an Interest Meeting for all parents wanting to learn more about Wave Cheer! If you plan to attend please sign up online. This is not for returning parents; only parents inquiring about our program and wanting to hear what we are all about!
OPEN GYM CANCELLED THIS SATURDAY
We have decided to cancel open gym this upcoming Saturday, 5/13! We never like to cancel, but we failed to realize its Mothers Day weekend when scheduling! We would like everyone to have a relaxed weekend with mom instead of having to be ran around to cheer on a weekend of rest for our awesome mommas! Please spread the word and post on social media as well as we want everyone to be aware! Our next Open gym will be May 27th! Times will be 8:30-9:15 for 7 and under and 9:30-10:30 for ages 8 and up!
WAVE CHEER WEBSITE AND APP
If you have not yet been to our website and downloaded our app it is a game changer! I am so thankful to Coach Melanie for doing the research and finding the app and for April putting it into action and keeping up with everything! We will be updating it often so please get very familiar with it! The link to the website is below and instructions for the app as well!

PARENT EXPECTATIONS FOR CLASSES
We are so excited for all the new faces coming in and trying our program. We ask that all parents please either drop off or wait upstairs in our cafe area or on the other side of the lobby couches for your athlete when they are attending a class or open gym. This is VERY helpful for your athletes to focus if you are out of their sight! You can still hear and observe from those places, but please do not wait in areas where the child can see you or be tempted to “go ask mommy” etc. We want them to get the most from classes so parents thank you for your understanding!
COACH AUTUMN BOOKING LESSONS
Coach Autumn will be back in town this Tuesday HOORAY! She will be booking lessons, if anyone was with her before that is now with Coach Amanda and wants to switch back over to Autumn for the summer you are welcome to do that as I know the kids LOVE her and her time is limited! Coach Amanda currently has a wait list for lessons but as soon as school is out, she will have many spots opening up, so if you would like to get on the wait list for summer for Coach Amanda please let me know! MEMORIAL DAY CAMP
We are excited for our Memorial Day Stunt Camp! Be sure and sign up online as it is going to be full of fun and hours of stunting! Camp is Monday, 5/29, 9-12 at Great Neck and space is limited! Our last holiday stunt camp was a huge success! It is super helpful if you sign up before the day of or day before for planning purposes :)
MONDAY TUMBLE CLASSES

Tumble classes have been AMAZING. I am not sure what the girls are reporting back but the detail work on form is making a HUGE difference, I cannot wait for you all to see them hit the mat this year and the improvement the “gymnastics” technique is making in our skills. If your athlete feels like they are not progressing please know that they are! Just because some may not have a new skill yet, doesn’t mean the skills that they already have are not 100 percent better ! As soon as we clean up where we are at moving up is so much easier. Coach Laura & Coach Sarah do not coach our cheer teams. they are only our tumble coaches and we are grateful they are taking their one night off from coaching their gym and filling it up with coaching us. If you are not enrolled in Monday tumble, it's not too late for this month and I highly recommend it! The girls that are in it look totally different than they did last year in their skills already!
BAPTISM SUNDAY, MAY 28

is so honored to be baptizing Wave cheer athletes and families!
Simply put, water baptism is an outward display and celebration of your inward decision to trust Christ with your eternity. It’s an act of obedience, and a public profession of your faith and your commitment to follow Christ.
We take this step very seriously and want to be sure everyone understands why they are being baptized! I was signed up to be baptized at a very early age as a format in our church after accepting Christ. I do not remember it, so just last year I decided to be baptized again, now fully understanding why we are baptized and making the choice on my own to take that step in my faith!

approx. 11 athletes and a parent signed up so far! This calls for great celebration so if you attend another church or don’t attend church but want to come support your teammates the service is at 10 am on May 28th! Feel free to wear a Wave cheer shirt to church that day if you wish! Everyone being baptized is being asked to wear black bottoms and a Black Wave Cheer T-shirt :)

ALL PARENT PARENT MEETING JUNE 15 7pm
We will have a Mandatory (if you are in town) Parent meeting for all parents on June 15th at 7 pm at Wave Church Great Neck to go over season 7 details! You won’t want to miss this as the details to all things Season 7 will be given out at this meeting!
SUMMER CHEER CAMP
The most exciting week of summer is CHEER CAMP! June 19 - June 23. Don’t forget to sign up online if you plan to attend! Registration closes for Season 7 the week after camp so it's a great place to come “check out” what we are all about and see if your athlete wants to join! Spread the word , post it , everyone is welcome !
REGISTRATION CLOSES FOR SEASON 7 JUNE 30th!
We will not accept any registration after this date so please don’t delay to sign up for Season 7 once you know your athlete is committing !
