The Lake Stevens Youth Cheer (LSYC) Competition program operates from July through January, offering a thrilling cheer experience for aspiring athletes. Girls on the squad will embark on a journey to master competitive cheer and dance routines, complete with exhilarating stunts and dynamic tumbling sequences. Tryouts are held in April, preceding the start of the season, ensuring ample time for preparation and team selection. Competitions commence in November and extend into January, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their skills and teamwork on the grand stage.

Sideline Cheer
- Sideline Cheer starts in early to mid-July and continues through mid-November.
- Girls and Boys ages 5-18 are eligible to participate.
- We build teams based on age to cheer for the LSYF football teams.
- Your cheerleader must be 5 prior to the start of season and still in high school in order to participate.
- Practice schedules are up to each individual coach, but may start practicing in July and for sure start full time in August.
- Practices could be 2-3 days a week and up to two hours each practice.
- Practices may be adjusted when school resumes, but it's up to your coach on days and times of practice.
- Coaches may want to have a team bonding event prior to the start of the season, dependent on each individual coach.
- Coaches will reach out to their teams as soon as they have their roster from our Team Administrator, within a week or so of when registration closes.
- Cheerleaders participate in the Aquafest parade every year, with 3 parade practices the week leading up to the parade.
- Uniform fittings are scheduled; cheerleaders MUST attend one of these fittings in order to get all uniforms ordered at once.
- Cheerleaders will be practicing outside and squads will practice at a location with an undercover, lit area as well as a grass area for stunting.
- In case of inclement weather or smoke, outdoor practices will be canceled for the safety of the cheerleaders.
- Football games are every Saturday, with game times and locations TBD by the North Sound JR Football League.
- Games may take place in cities including Arlington, Marysville, Tulalip, Oak Harbor, Snohomish, Everett, Lynnwood, Mukilteo, Monroe and Sultan.
- Your coach may ask you to join a team communication app or their Facebook page for communication.
- ALL teams fundraise for anything extra, such as under armor, water bottles, fancy bows, spirit notes, end of season party.
