Joining the Swim Team Step One: Tryouts

Doing a tryout is the first step in joining the team. This is a chance for the coach to see if the prospective swimmer is actually ready for swim team, and if so which level they will start at.

Tryouts for the swim team are listed on this website on the Meets & Events Page as well at www.waveaquatics.org. All interested swimmers must pass a tryout before registering with the swim team.

>>If there is not a tryout for your swimmer's age group, that is because we do not have space in that age group.<<

The exception to that is an athlete who is truly fast. As a competitive team, we will work to make space for an athlete who is truly fast in the water.

*Please note that not everyone who tries out makes the team. Wave has an open door policy and anyone not ready is encouraged to take any needed lessons and come back again for the next try out.

Athlete placement into a training group is based on their age and ability. The coaches are the only ones qualified to make that determination.

Please note that Wave Aquatics is a competitive swim team, and that practice and meet attendance is expected.

Joining the Swim Team Step Two: Registration

Once your swimmer passes their tryout and has been placed into a training group, you will need to register them with the team.

Go to the Wave Aquatics home page. On the left side of the page it says:

Start Registration

Click on that to begin registering.

Please be sure to read through the registration document carefully (see link below) and let us know if you have any questions.
