Head Coach: Caleb Thomas

Hi, WaveRiders family! I am ecstatic to be coming back for my second year as your Head Coach and seeing all my friendly faces again! 
 
I started swimming at the age of three, and the sport stuck with me all the way through my college career! I really started to enjoy the sport more during my teenage years, winning Junior National titles, posting VA state records, and getting the opportunity to race in cities across the country! Currently, I am working as a Novice Coach at Quest Swimming in the evenings and am a full time student with hopes to achieve my college degree in the next two years!

 

 

Assistant Head Coach: Tess Williams

Hi, everyone! My name is Tess Williams, and I have been swimming for almost 15 years. I swam for NOVA for nine years and swam for the ACAC dolphins for 14 years. I am currently a swimmer at Randolph Macon College. I am so excited to spend my summer with every one of you, have so much fun, and work hard! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Assistant Coach: Alex Counoupas

Hey Waveriders, I am excited to return to the team for a second year as an assistant coach. I have been swimming for ten years in CAL and RMAL with three different teams. I also spent 4 years on the Monacan High school swim team, and was a Captain my senior year. I am graduating from Monacan High School this spring and enjoy music, sports, mountain biking, and most of all, swimming. As senioritis does its thing I get more excited by the day for the summer and a return to the Waveriders Swim Team.

 

 

 

 

 

Junior Coaches: 

Maddie Clark

I’m Maddie Clark. I’ve been swimming for WaveRiders for six years, Poseidon for five years, and I swam for Midlothian High School as a freshman this year. I was a CIT last summer and did some private lessons with some kids in the neighborhood. I’m super excited to be coaching again and for the WaveRiders to dominate this season…and maybe even win champs!

 

 

 

 

 

Ashlyn Pew

Hi, my name is Ashlyn Pew. I have been swimming for Poseidon since I was eight years old. I go to Matoaca High School and am 16 years old. I absolutely love teaching younger swimmers how to swim and seeing them grow in the sport like I have. I am really excited to be a part of this team and help younger swimmers in their swim career!

I have 9 years of experience in swimming 5 years summer league and 4 years swimming competitively.  I can’t wait to start another season of summer league and get some experience coaching.
