5 Year Planning Committee Update

As a committee we plan to provide you all with several updates along the way. So, this is first of several to come.

First we would like to thank all of you who responded to our survey. We had over 65 families provide us with feedback and that insight continues to be so helpful as we look to framing up our future. We will be sharing those results in greater detail later in the process, but in the meantime if you would like to learn more, please just reach out to a member of the committee.

During our time together so far, we have spent time gaining a firm grounding in the team’s history and current situation, reviewed the results of the parent, coach, and senior swimmer survey, conducted a SWOT analysis, and identified ideas for improving and sustaining Wave. We have more recently started to address priority needs for the Wave’s future. Priority focus areas include determining and planning for Swimmer, Parent, Coach, and Parent Board needs. The group has already started to address swimmer needs by developing proposed future practice group modifications, that would focus on meeting the needs of where we have seen growth in our swimmer counts and also making sure we are provide all the kids with the best possible focused training. Some of these have already been address this summer by adding additional pool and practice time.

Our plan is to continue to frame up our ideas that will allow us to bring our mission to life, “ to establish a culture of excellence which provides each swimmer the opportunity to achieve their highest personal goals in swimming and life.” We will be planning several other meetings and will be reaching back to let you know more about what is happening and seeking additional insight.
