Summer Registration Opens Tomorrow!

Fox Valley Wave families,

Thank you everyone for a great MayFly meet! We appreciate all the coaches, swimmers, and parents for all their time and effort in and out of the pool. As we look forward to our upcoming summer season, we have some reminders and new information to share. Please read the entire email to not miss out on some very important and new information.

PRACTICE TEAMS

We will be opening our new practice team Tropical Storms this summer (Senior National) for the older swimmers. Below are the descriptions of Tsunamis and Tropical Storm:

TROPICAL STORM [SENIOR NATIONAL]:

Swimmers in this group have dedicated themselves to the sport of swimming and focus on a higher level of swimming with goals of getting state championships and swimming at a national level and beyond. Swimmers must be in or going into high school with at least one USA state time in their age OR in Jr. High with a Senior NCSA time. Swimmers must complete the "Tropical Storm Group Regulations Agreement" to enter this group [HERE].

Ages for this group typically range 14 years and above.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the Summer Season opens tomorrow for our current active swimmers (instead of the beginning of June like previous seasons) so we can see how many spots we have available for new swimmers. Most of our groups will probably be filled and we want to make sure current swimmers have first chance to join. Unfortunately do to pool space, swimmers that don’t sign up for summer are not guaranteed a spot for Fall. As always, current active swimmers from the summer session will register first, and then previous active swimmers will be allowed to register if there are remaining open spots.

REGISTRATION PROCESS – OPENING TUESDAY, MAY 9th, 2022

1. May 9th – May 14th: All Current Spring Active Members.

2. May 15th Registration will be opened to all Previous Active Members

3. May 22nd: Waitlisted swimmers will be notified of openings and be able to Register

The first day of practice will be Monday, June 5th, 2023 and the season will go thru Thursday July 20th for Wavelets, Swells, and Breakers groups, Wednesday July 26th for Tidal Waves and Tsumanis, and Tropical Storms will be determined based on Junior National Qualifiers

FEE STRUCTURE

Fees include Wave participation fee only.

Fees are as follows (you can also find this on the website under the Practice Info Tab):

Tropical Storm & College: $496

Tsunamis: $464

Tidal Waves: $368

Breakers: $273

Swells: $182

Wavelets: $168

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

There aren’t any volunteer requirements for the summer season. However, there still may be some opportunities for families to volunteer.

FUNDRAISING FEE

Fees and money raised from our meets do not meet all our budgetary requirements. For this reason, we are requiring all swimmers to pay a fundraising fee. Fundraising requirements for Summer Season will be $25 per swimmer. These fees will be billed to each swimmer’s account on July 1st, 2022. Participating in the Scrip program is a way to help offset the fundraising fee.
