Volunteer Sign-up is OPEN
Sign Up is Open!:
The Mandatory Volunteer spots for Mayfly 2024 are now open. Each family MUST sign up for 2 spots in order to not pay the $200 fee. Please read descriptions because although most spots need no previous experience some spots have prerequisites. Times listed are approximate and WILL CHANGE once the session reports are posted. Volunteer times will coordinate with session start and end times, but some spots require early arrival or a later end time. You may contact Meghan Gremban with questions about volunteer sign up.
Below is our policy on Volunteering that was in Registration, please reach out with any questions. Thank you so much! Looking forward to a great meet!!!
"As a parent run organization it is essential parents be willing to volunteer their time to help run the team; this includes being present to work and volunteer to support the Fox Valley Wave Swim Team with all the hosted meets (one in May and one in December)"
Our team works because of the combined focus of our coaches and parent volunteers to deliver on our team mission, “to establish a culture of excellence, which provides each swimmer the opportunity to achieve their highest personal goals in swimming and life.” Our volunteer strength comes from our parent board and committees, officials, family volunteers at our meets and parents that are willing to spend time on special projects. In order to make it all come together it is essential each family gives of their time to volunteer in one of these areas.
When you sign up for the team through the registration process you are required to volunteer at our hosted meets. You are expected to fill at least two slots under the meet event sign-ups (including, but not limited to, helping at the meet and/or bringing concession items). If you cannot or will not volunteer, you will be charged a $200 fee which will be invoiced before the end of the season.
If you know you cannot volunteer at the meets, opportunities to serve on the meet planning committee will be publicized, and you can give your time planning the meet in lieu of the $200 fee. You will be required to keep track of your time and have the meet planning coordinator verify you have served at least 9 volunteer hours prior to the start of the meet. Other volunteer opportunities may be available and will be publicized as available.
If a family emergency arises and you cannot fulfill your volunteer requirement, you are obligated to let the Board know, in writing, the nature of the situation and ask for a waiver of the $200 fee prior to the last meet of the season. If you have not taken this step, you will be charged the $200 fee."
Thank you in advance for all the volunteer hours that go into make Mayfly a successful meet!
