USA Swimming
Tosa Aquatic Club is a USA Swimming affiliated club that provides its swimmers the opportunity to compete against other Wisconsin swim teams throughout the season. USA Swimming is the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the United States, setting the rules and regulations of competitive swimming . Its nearly 400,000 members are comprised of swimmers, coaches and volunteers from the age group level through the Olympics.
All of our swimmers and coaches must be registered with USA Swimming for insurance and competition purposes. For more information about USA Swimming, go to usaswimming.org.
Recreation Department, Wauwatosa School District
The Recreation Department of the Wauwatosa School District handles all of our seasonal registrations, employs our coaches and is responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of the pools used by our club. During the school year, we hold practice in the pools at Tosa East, Tosa West and Whitman Middle Schools. During the summer, practice is also held at the Tosa Pool in Hoyt Park.
Registration for the "short course" season which runs from September through February generally begins in mid-August. Registration for "long course" which runs from March through July begins in February. Registration after the season has started is possible. Priority registration is given to current swim families and availability is limited, but a wait list is kept and generally most swimmers can be accommodated. Parent Board
Tosa Aquatic Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization directed by the Parent Board. Consisting of four elected volunteers, the Board serves as parent representatives to the Head Coach and the Recreation Department. The Board manages the collection and payment of USA Registration and meet fees, coordinates social events, raises funds and helps guide policy decisions regarding the club.
