Program Description - SwimAmerica is a nation-wide learn-to-swim program locally operated by the Powell Swim Club. The program brings together both water safety and skill training using a progressive layering approach to swimming skills in learning groups with low coach-to-student ratios.  The program gives life-saving skill knowledge and prepares the swimmer for the sport of competitive swimming.  Lessons are offered to students in grades Kindergarten and up in 30-minute sessions 2x/week in 4-week blocks.  Lessons start on the first of Monday of Sept / Oct / Nov / Jan / Mar / Apr / May / June / July depending on pool availability and when staffing is sufficient (see position postings below) .  Contact Jerry Rodriguez to for more information or to register your student - Phone 307-754-9250 or Email [email protected].

SWIMAMERICA POSITION OPENINGS

Assistant Site Supervisor - Pay is $9/hour. Time committment is 4-6 hours weekly - 1.5 hours Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm + administrative / prep time.  The position will help the Site Supervisor with student registration, monitor lessons, schedule lesson coaches, and will set-up / take-down instructional area.  Organization skills helpful. Site Supervisor - Pay is $10.50/hour. Time commitment is 6-8 hours weekly. Responsibilities include those of the Assistant Site Supervisor, plus program development and operations; certification of students; and hiring, supervising and scheduling of lesson coaches.  A background in competitive swimming is highly recommended. SwimAmerica Site Supervisor certification required. (Certification expenses will be reimbursed to the employee incrementally over the course of their first year of employment.) Lesson Coaches - Starting pay is $8.00/hour. Time committment is 3 hours/week in 4-week blocks from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.  Swim America Coach certification required.
