November News
Hey Team,
Well, beet harvest for Rodriguez Farms is finally over as of Saturday a little before noon! It was long and with many difficulties but at least we got all of the beets out this year. I will, hopefully, now have more time to devote to the team and keeping everyone up to date with all of the things happening with us.
Let me see if I can catch up with everything in October:
-
The Awards night was a great success! Congrats again to all of the swimmers!
-
Our Adopt a Highway clean up on the 17th was successful and very chilly. We had seven athletes and six adults show up and make quick work of the task. We even had a highway patrolman stop and ask “Who are you guys?”. After we explained who we were he thanked us multiple times. We also got our picture up on the WYODOT website. Cool! I have been assured by WYODOT that our sign will be up soon.
-
We took 8 athletes to the 37th annual Spook Splash in Lander on the 31st. It was interesting, to say the least, with all of the new COVID rules but we swam well with many personal best times achieved.
-
The pool will be closing early on Wednesday the 11th for Veterans Day. Wouldn’t it be great if they had a free day for all of the veterans and their families?
-
Normally we would have had to cancel practice but the PAC has agreed to let us have our practice from 3:30-5:00, I know this may be a problem for a few people. Just get there when you can. We will be working on starts, turns and finishes in preparation for our dual meet with Cody the following evening.
-
PSC/CKAT DUAL meet on Thursday the 12th. We have 29 members of our team competing, which is great! I will have your entry information for you tomorrow.
-
The next team suit order will be due November 23rd. If you are unsure of what size to get, I will have a few suits of various sizes for you to try on. I also have team t-shirts and team caps available now.
-
Congrats to the PHS girls swim team for there 3rd place finish at state and a very successful season! I hope to see our athletes returning to Piranhas practice soon.
-
Swim-a-thon will be here before you know it. Dec. 2nd and 4th Get out there and get those pledges! If you do not have a packet yet, I will have them at the pool. Now easier than ever to donate. Send this link to everybody that you know so that they can help support the team. https://www.teamunify.com/team/wypsc/page/tu-money
Well, that was a lot of information. I will try to keep things shorter in the future.
See you at the pool.
