Meet Overview
The 2026 Short Course Connecticut Age Group Championships is a USA Swimming–sanctioned championship meet for qualified Connecticut Swimming (CSI) athletes ages 10 & Under, 11–12, and 13–14. This meet brings together the top swimmers across the state who have met the qualifying time standards.
Athlete Eligibility
To compete, swimmers must:

Be 2026 registered members of USA Swimming / Connecticut Swimming

Have competed in at least two CSI-sanctioned meets since January 1, 2025

Have achieved the required qualifying time for each event entered

Be properly entered by the club before entry deadlines
Meet Schedule (Summary)
Thursday – Distance & Relays

13–14 1650 Free: Warm-up 2:00 PM | Start 3:00 PM

Evening distance relays & events begin approximately 5:35 PM
Friday – Sunday

Morning Prelims (11–12 & 13–14): Warm-up 7:00 AM | Start 8:40 AM

Afternoon Session (10 & Under): Warm-up 1:15 PM | Start 2:00 PM

Evening Finals (11–12 & 13–14): Warm-up 4:15 PM | Start 5:15 PM

Venue & Spectator Information

Limited spectator seating: Maximum 340 spectators
-
Seating is spectator area only (no deck access)
-
No folding chairs allowed in the building

Wristbands may be used to manage spectator capacity
-
Wi-Fi is limited; no live stream will be available
Locker Rooms & Safety
-
No shaving on premises
-
No locks may be left on lockers
-
Changing only permitted in locker rooms
-
No cell phones or recording devices allowed in locker rooms or restrooms
Deck Access & Supervision
-
Only athletes entered in the meet, coaches, officials, and volunteers may be on deck

All swimmers must be supervised by a USA Swimming–registered coach
-
Siblings and non-participating children are not permitted on deck
Entries & Event Limits (Simplified)

Maximum 7 individual events per swimmer for the meet

Maximum 3 individual events per day
-
10 & Under events are timed finals only
-
11–12 & 13–14 events are prelims & finals (except some distance events)
Bonus events are allowed under specific rules and depend on age group and qualification.
Scratches & Check-In

Scratches are due 45 minutes before each session

Some distance events require positive check-in (details provided by coaches)

Failure to scratch properly may result in removal from later events
Awards & Scoring
-
Individual events score to 20 places
-
Medals: 1st–10th place
-
Ribbons: 11th–20th place
-
Relay medals awarded through 3rd place
-
Age Group Champion & High Point awards will be presented
All awards must be picked up before leaving on Sunday.
Volunteer & Work Assignments

All participating clubs are required to provide volunteers

Assignments include timers, marshals, safety, and officials
-
Failure to work assignments may result in club fines
Parents may be asked by the team to help with volunteer duties.

Photography is restricted and prohibited in locker rooms and behind starting blocks

Drones are not permitted at the venue

Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in removal from the meet
