Jocelyn Paxton-Aquatics Director

"Coach J" has been coaching in Muscatine since 1995.  She joined the Muscatine Community YMCA staff in 1996.  Jocelyn is a certified USA and YMCA coach along with several other Aquatic Professional certifications.  She has been supervising and training aquatic staff since 1999 and became Aquatics Director in 2006.  She resumed coaching full time for the Manta Rays in 2018.

Jocelyn believes that instilling our athletes with good sportsmanship, leadership, respect and responsibility is critical for their success in and out of the pool and loves the family atmosphere that the swimming community creates.

 

Kaleb Garnica-Coach

Coach Kaleb has been coaching YMCA swimming for the past six years. He grew up swimming distance events in middle school, high school and intramurals in college. Coach Kaleb believes that every swimmer has the ability to achieve their dreams through hard work and
determination.
Coach Kaleb values instilling athletes with good sportsmanship, leadership, respect  and responsibility to help them achieve success in and out of the pool.

 

Shannon Radle-Coach

Shannon is joining the Manta Ray family this season with a passion for growing teamwork and confidence through the sport of swimming.  She's enjoyed teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities and being an active member of the community.  

Shannon swam competitively for more than 15 years starting with her hometown YMCA team and ending at Iowa State University.  Post collegiately she competed in triathlons including multiple years with elite status. 

 

 

Susan Wheeler-Coach

Coach Susan has been coaching on and off for the Manta Rays since 2008. She will also be coaching Middle School swim team this year for the first time. She will be helping coach 1-2 nights a week. You can find her teaching P.E. At Madison Elementary school. 

She love to be in or around a swimming pool and is excited to get to know the swimmers this season. She swam for 10 years and was part of the swim team. 

 

Coach Susan believes that trying hard and having a positive attitude will get you far in life.
