2024 April Registration Info for Spring/Summer Team....
New Swimmers will be contacted to schedule Try-outs/Placement after registration. New swimmers should pre-register to reserve their place. All fees will be refunded if the swimmer does not make the team.
The Green Family YMCA Barracudas Swim Team offers a variety of registration options. Please review and determine the best option for your family.
Summer Swim Team Registration Only - Swimmers will practice at the Green YMCA from May 6 through July 17, and compete in Mid-Ohio Swim League. Meets begin in June. There are two different pricing categories: YMCA Members & Non-Members. No refunds after the first week of practices.
Full Year Registration Option - Participants choosing to register in April for both Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter will benefit from a price break if paying in full at registration; or choose to make the 1st payment at registration plus 5 additional monthly payments, June - Oct. (6 pmts total). (Please note that the Fall booster fee of $80.00 will be due during Fall Registration.) Participants must be Green Family YMCA Members to register for the Full Year.
Summer Swim Team + Long Course Add-On - Swimmers ages 9 and over. Swimmers must have at least 2 seasons of competitive swimming experience and registration is subject to coach approval. Participants will practice at the Green YMCA during the month of May and attend long course practices at the Univ. of Akron in June & July. This group participates in all MOSL meets plus optional USA meets (USA Swimming Membership is required if participants desire to compete in USA Swimming competitions. (Additional host meet/event fees apply for USA Meets.)

⭐All participants are required to pay the summer team booster fee of $30. This money is used to purchase items and equipment for the team that is not covered by the Y; such as award ribbons, timing & training equipment, summer picnic items, league fees, etc...
RETURNING SWIMMERS can register online at www.akronymca.org beginning April 1 @ noon.
NEW Swimmers can register online beginning April 4th.
If space is still available, in-house registration will be available April 8 - 19, 2024**.
**Please note: Registration will be closed earlier than April 19 if groups are filled. Based on the large number of swimmers last season, it is expected that all practice groups will fill up quickly. Register early to avoid being closed out.
2024 Barracudas SUMMER Swim Team Fees
Swim team fees cannot be prorated, and make-up practice times are not available.
*Long Course fee subject to change
Please note: GYB requires each family to volunteer for 2 positions throughout the summer season. There is a $75 non-volunteer fee for parents who do not meet their team volunteering requirement. This fee will be added to the athlete’s account at the end of the season if applicable.

⭐All participants are required to pay the fall/winter team booster fee of $80. This money is used to purchase items and equipment for the team which are not covered by the Y; such as award ribbons, timing & training equipment, end of season banquet ticket for each swimmer, banquet awards, team unify software, league fees, fall team t-shirt, etc..
RETURNING SWIMMERS can register online at www.akronymca.org beginning August 1 @ noon.
NEW Swimmers can register online beginning August 5th.
If space is still available, in-house registration will be available beginning August 10, 2024**.
**Please note: Registration will be closed earlier than August 18 if groups are filled. Based on the large number of swimmers last season, it is expected that all practice groups will fill up quickly. Register early to avoid being closed out.
