Becoming An Official
If you are interested in officiating at swim meets there are officials trainings held every few months at YMCA's around Ohio, and are paid for by the team.
There are two levels of officiating, Level I and Level II. If interested in being an official, you must first take the Level I class. This qualifies you to officiate at most swim meets as a stroke/turn official among other positions. We usually require at least three Level I officials for all of our home dual meets.
For those who have been certified for at least one year as a YMCA Level I Official and worked at least 8 sessions on deck as a Level I Certified Official, you may take the Level II class. This allows you to be the Head Official at meets among other things. We cannot run a meet without at least one Level II official.

Offical Requirments:
1. Annual Renewal for YMCA Swim Officials:
Similarly to an Officials first season all YMCA swim officials are required to complete a renewal yearly in Volunteer Matters. This is essential to ensure that we continue to maintain the highest standards for our programs and services. Officials must complete each assignment in Volunteers matter before their first meet.
