Coaching Staff
I am excited to step back
into coaching once again. At eight I started swimming
competitively on a USA team in Syracuse, IN and later for Wawasee
High School until I graduated in 1989. I competed in cross-country
& track at my college in North Manchester, IN but accepted a
head swim coach position there for its USA team. I also coached
with my hometown USA team in the summers. After graduating and
becoming a teacher, I was the head coach in Berne, IN for both the
USA swim team and the high school boys’ team. Moving to
Indianapolis, I was the assistant coach at Brownsburg HS
boys’ swim team and an age group coach for a USA team in
Noblesville, IN. I stepped away from coaching at the end of the
high school year in 2000 after our son was born. The Air Force
brought our family to Enid in the summer of 2009 and our four
children have been involved with the Y team and the USA team since
2010.
Justin has been a volunteer coach for the team since October of 2014. He is Red Cross Lifeguard and Coach certified as well as coaching certification from USA Swimming and is a long time member of US Masters swimming and USA Triathlon. He continues to compete in both open water swimming and triathlon events. He has been a member of the Denny Price YMCA aquatics committee since 2005.
