YMCA TEAM REGISTRATION – All Teams

• Deadline is DECEMBER 1 -or- Prior to the entry deadline of any sanctioned YMCA meet, whichever is earlier.
• Expected of all YMCA teams; Required for participation in any sanctioned YMCA meet. 
• Complete all data including team abbreviation. If your team is not a member of USA Swimming, do not fill in the LSC name.
• $50 annual team registration fee is paid by credit card in the registration system at the time team registration is submitted.

YMCA COACH REGISTRATION - All Coaches (not just head coach)

• Deadline is DECEMBER 1 -or- Prior to the entry deadline of any sanctioned YMCA meet, whichever is earlier.
• Expected of all YMCA coaches. Required in order to be on deck at any sanctioned YMCA meet. 
• Y coach’s cards will NOT be made within 2 weeks of a sanctioned Y meet.
• Requires current certifications in 
  • Professional Rescuer CPR - only the first year of certification is recognized by YMCA
  • First Aid
  • Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches (a Lifeguard or YASA certification may be used but must also be accompanied by proof of passing the online STSC test) 
  • Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving.
• Upload copies of your certification cards to the site. Paper copies, mailed or faxed, are not accepted.
• Update expired certifications within enough time to receive a new coaches card 2 weeks prior to a sanctioned Y meet.
• You may choose to receive a coach’s card, but it is not necessary. Meet directors for all sanctioned Y meets are provided with a list of registered teams and coaches who may participate in their meet.

PRINCIPLES OF YMCA SWIMMING AND DIVING

In addition to the required safety certifications, all YMCA swimming coaches complete the online Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving course. 

Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving 

• Go to https://lcdc.yexchange.org/ (Learning & Career Development Center).
• Only offered as e-learning. Allow 3 hours online plus meetings with the direct supervisor, the executive director, aquatic director, and/or other supervisors within the YMCA. Arrange meetings well in advance.
• Cost $20.00.
• All YMCA coaches; one-time certification.
• The “workbook” part of the course, in which participants report on their meetings, is uploaded to your coach registration in the designated field. If you did not save the workbook, please upload your certification in this section.
