Coach Emily Willham is the head coach of Indian Creek Swim Club—and has pretty much been part fish since the age of 9. Born and raised in Yorktown, Indiana, Emily got her start in the pool after her parents realized she refused to get out of the water on family vacations. From that moment on, swimming became her thing. She swam for Cardinal Swim Club and Yorktown High School, where she became a 4-time IHSAA State Champion in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2-time runner-up in the 200-yard IM.
Her career didn’t stop there—Emily was a former national record holder, a Junior Pan Pacific Champion, and a World Junior Champion, representing Team USA at international competitions. She then went on to swim at Indiana University, where she earned her degree in Fitness and Wellness—and met her future husband, Nick, a wrestler on the IU team. Basically, it was a classic "swimmer meets wrestler, they survive early morning lifts and campus dining halls together, and the rest is history" situation.
The two were married in May 2025 and now live with their very large, very spoiled cat, who may or may not believe he's the true head of the household.
After college, Emily launched her career in Strength and Conditioning, completing an internship in Louisiana (yes, she survived the humidity) where she trained athletes across multiple sports—football, baseball, volleyball, track & field, and of course, swimming. She also coached at a swim club there before moving back to Indiana, where she worked at a private performance facility in Carmel.
While she loved helping athletes of all kinds, Emily’s passion pulled her back to the pool. Over the years, she’s coached swim clubs, taught swim lessons, and now leads Indian Creek with energy, experience, and a whole lot of heart.
She holds certifications as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, USA Swimming Coach, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO)—so yes, she’s fully prepared for anything from elite training to rogue pool noodles.
When she’s not coaching, you’ll find her swimming (for fun now!), lifting weights, baking sweet treats, or binge-watching her favorite shows like it’s a championship event. Coach Emily is passionate about building confident athletes, fostering team culture, and keeping the fun in fundamentals.
Coach Evan Dennis brings energy, experience, and just the right amount of humor to the pool deck at Indian Creek Swim Club. A true Creek original, Evan swam for ICSC and Indian Creek Schools throughout his entire childhood—even if he didn’t always love the tough workouts (sorry, Coach!). But despite being "voluntold" into the pool as a kid, swimming ended up becoming a major part of his life.
As a high school standout, Evan competed at the IHSAA State Championships in the 100-yard butterfly, combining raw speed with the determination that now shapes his coaching style. He knows what it takes to push through a tough set, and now he's flipping the script—using that experience to motivate and inspire the next generation of swimmers.
Evan is especially gifted at helping kids reach their true potential. Whether it's building strong technique, cheering them on during a breakthrough race, or giving just the right push when they're holding back, Coach Evan is all about helping athletes grow with confidence.
When he’s not on deck, Evan is an avid CrossFitter, which explains why he’s always ready to race the kids during kick sets (and usually win). His passion for fitness goes hand-in-hand with his belief that hard work pays off—whether it's in the gym or the pool.
Outside the swim world, Evan is about to dive into his biggest role yet: husband! He’s newly engaged to his high school sweetheart, Hannah, and the two are tying the knot this fall. His love for swimming is only rivaled by his love for her (awww).
Coach Evan brings high energy, fun vibes, and a “let’s get better” mindset to every practice—and we’re lucky to have him on the Creek coaching crew.
Coach Becky is the queen of patience, the master of teaching tiny swimmers, and a firm believer that everyone can learn to swim—even if it takes a hundred goggles fixes, a million kickboard drills, and a few sneaky snack breaks along the way.
Becky has been in and around the water since childhood, but her real love for swimming blossomed as a teenager working at a summer camp in upstate New York. She became a certified lifeguard in 2003 and has been guarding pools—and keeping chaos at bay—for over 20 years.
After moving to Estes Park, Colorado in 2008, Becky decided to take on swimming as a serious adult goal. She started teaching kids at the YMCA of the Rockies and quickly discovered her true passion: helping young swimmers build skills and confidence in the water, one tiny arm movement at a time.
Becky is a detail-obsessed, technique-loving swim whisperer, known for her incredible ability to break down the smallest parts of a skill and teach them in a way that even a 5-year-old can understand. Her calm presence on deck has made her a favorite among our youngest swimmers—they absolutely adore her!
She began her coaching career in Alaska (yes, you read that right!) with the Stingray Swim Team in Fairbanks, working with age-group swimmers across multiple levels. She also coached a youth USA Climbing team during her time there, which makes her officially cooler than the rest of us.
Originally from Indiana, Becky has lived all over the U.S., including New York, Montana, Colorado, and Alaska. After working on the North Slope in 2013, she finally made her dream of living in Alaska come true. She met her husband Corey while he was stationed there, and now they’re back in Indiana raising their four adorable daughters—who are basically mini versions of her.
When Becky’s not coaching, she loves hiking, running, and, of course, swimming. Before kids, she also enjoyed rock climbing and snowboarding, and we’re betting she’ll be back on the slopes before long.
Coach Becky is certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor, and USA Swimming Coach. She brings a lifetime of experience, endless patience, and a whole lot of heart to our pool deck—and we wouldn't have it any other way.
