3) Force majeure and travel cost
1) OHR, Szeged, Hungary (September 17-20, 2020) and ICF World Cup, Szeged, Hungary (September 24-27, 2020)
Due to a challenging COVID-19 situation in the U.S. and Europe, the limited national coaching/staff availability, and the complexity of bringing together athletes and staff from various locations during the pandemic, the ACA decided to limit the OHR and World Cup registration this summer.
Currently, the National Team Coach, Zsolt Szadovszki, is the only coach/staff person who may travel to Europe if conditions permit. Zsolt can support only his current training group and those athletes who can successfully join his group by observing COVID-19
Return to Training Considerations issued by the USOPC.
2) Reminder about the COVID-19 PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER
Anyone that is or plans to participate in the ACA training or competition this summer needs to fill out and sign ACA's COVID-19 PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER and return a signed document to Rok Sribar at ACA (rsribar at americancanoe dot org)
by August 7, 2020. Those community members who have not returned a signed ACA's COVID-19 PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS AGREEMENT AND WAIVER will not be allowed to participate in the Team training and competitions.
3) Force majeure and travel cost
ACA wants to clarify that the registered athletes remain responsible for their accommodation and travel costs in case of force majeure leading to a late cancellation of planned European competitions.
In sports and health,
Rok Sribar, Ph.D.
