Weekly News and Practice Information - Week of 01/23/23

  • Congratulations: 
    • Our 10 and Under team (36 strong) overcame the happy tiredness from the water carnival and posted a combined score win:  CAC: 360, NLSC: 298, AST: 296, WWST: 32, YMCA: 14
    • The event top scorer was Mason Baker (45) with Janie Rauenhorst 4th overall (38).  Both took on tough events and brought home the bling.
    • Scorers over 20 included: Mason 45, Janie 38, Khalyse 35, Everett 28 and Alex with 27. 

Special Thanks:

To Wendy Kolberg who set up the meet files,  Jennie Russian who had the hardest job running Meet Manager at a 10U meet with its inevitable soft touches and DQs.  Thank you, as well, to Michele Shicks for running Colorado, Stacey Mank for being our starter and the other parents who timed or officiated.

  • Practice this Week:  All practices and lessons will be at the usual times with the exception of Friday when we will have a gold/silver/bronze practice only from 4:30 to 6PM.
  • Upcoming Meets:
    • Senior Champs: Fairbanks January 27, 28 and 29.  We are looking forward to Senior Champs.   Info will be coming to those signed up later today.
    • Water Bowl Invitational: Bartlett February 3rd and 4th.  This is an all comers meet.  You can sign up in the Events tab.  The events should be available for election soon.
    • Alaska Age Group Champs: Bartlett February 17th, 18th, 19th.  This meet is a big deal and we want to bring our best with all of our qualified athletes.  Events are available for selection in TU or On Deck but please remember that coaches may adjust the entries to bring the strongest team.
    • Spring Equinox: Bartlett March 24th and 25th.  This is an all comers meet.  Events are not yet available for selection but you can commit to attend.
    • Valdez Banana Meet: April 9th and 8th in Valdez.  This is a fun meet.  It is strongly recommended that you book hotels early if you plan to attend this meet. The Best Western is a common choice where many of our families will be staying.  There may be a theme t-shirt for this one so committing early will help ensure that you can order one.
    • Alaska Junior Olympics: Bartlett April 27th, 28th and 29th. This is the season culminating meet and another opportunity to defend our championship run and bring our best.

Qualifying Times:  Qualifying times reports in Team Unify will be updated Monday with results from the 10U meet.  Winter Splash has been included already.  Here is the link:

Billing for February:  The billing summary for February will be coming out soon.  This month’s billing will include meet fees for the Winter Splash and for the 10 and Under Postal.    Please complete the Monthly Sign Up and Declaration to indicate your plans for February.
