Important USA Swimming Registration Information:

Each year at this time, USA Swimming opens a registration window for the upcoming 2024 season.   The window is open from September 1st through December 31st.  Any registration received after September 1st is valid for practice and swim meets through December 31st, 2024.

The following are important to know as CAC is changing a few registration protocols.

  • CAC Members are advised to wait until at least October before registering for 2024.  This period of waiting allows us to avoid many of the registration glitches that occur at the beginning of the registration season.  We will be sending emails beginning in October to encourage registration.
  • If you do feel the need to register now, please use the following link: https://omr.usaswimming.org/omr/welcome/7D0F07490FB04E
  • We are going to change our registration requirement for our lessons students (levels 1-4.  These swimmers will no longer be required to register under USA Swimming.  Our insurance coverage from these students will come through the USA Swim Schools Association.  The charge for each will be $20 charged in November.  Lesson families will not need to complete an online registration.  Lesson students may register in USA Swimming if they would like.   The cost for Flex membership in USA Swimming is $30.  Those choosing this option will not be charged the $20 insurance fee.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Upcoming meets are available for job sign-up in the under Events in On Deck or Online.
  • Thank you to the King family for offering to build two additional docks.  We do have need of repair to some of our old docks.  This is a shorter job that could be done outside at the pool.

Upcoming Meets and Events:

Note, many of these dates are tentative as schedule are in development.  Please mark your calendars for these meets (especially the championship meets.  We are also looking to engage in regular time trials so stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks.  All qualifying time meets have been updated on the Qualified Athletes page in On Deck and our site.

Central Area Champs, Bartlett, December 8th-10th:  Qualification times for this championship meet are being updated and will be coming soon.  I would not expect them to be greatly different then the past times (see Personal Qualifying Time Tracker below).

10U State Championship Postal: Likely date January 12th and 13th, all 10 and under swimmers

Age Group Champs, Ketchikan, February 16th-18th - Qualification Meet. We have booked 15 double rooms at the “My Place” hotel for the nights of the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th.  We have also reserved two vans.  This is a fun destination meet so all qualifiers are encouraged to sign up early.  The meet does have finals on Sunday evening so a Monday morning departure is recommended.  This meet is eligible for $200 in support per athlete from CAC Boosters.

Alaska Swimming State Championship (Formerly Junior Olympics), Bartlett, April 26th-28th, Qualification Meet.

We will be reserving rooms for Age Group Champs soon but families are welcome to do so on there own.  The sooner the better for airline tickets and hotel rooms is critical.
