Weekly News and Practice Information - Week of 3/5/2024
Congratulations: We have had a run of great swims winning the Central Area Championships, Senior Championships and Age Group Championships. During these victories a host of team records were set. The following are to be congratulated for making the record board. You can view the online record board HERE. Record setters include: Mason Baker (a whole bunch), Alex Russian, Blake Nordstrom, Kia’i Davis, Colin Russian, Matthew Baker, Nate Shockley, Wes Mank, Hannah Cooper and Lelaina Trembath.
Chugiak News: Thank you to all who have contacted the Chugiak Pool management to urge steady progress. While we do not have a projected date for opening the most recent report is that the pool is being filled and heated. This is generally a two to three week process. Our hope is to see it open by April..
Practice Times over the break:
All practice and lessons time will remain the same during Spring Break with the exception of Platinum and Gold which will be offered from 2PM-4PM M-F.

Swimathon Fundraiser: Thank you to everyone who has already jumped in or signed up for the fundraiser.
We did want to clarify that there are participation options for lessons students to participate in the swim challenge. Level 1 and 2 swimmers will have a dock obstacle course they can complete multiple times as part of their challenge. Levels 3, 4 and stroke school will have the option of using equipment for their challenge.

Upcoming Meets and Events:
- Northwest Senior Sectionals, Seattle, King Aquatic Center, March 14-17, This is a Qualification Meet. Please declare commitment in OnDeck or on our page by January 7th. We are planning a VRBO house for this meet with a female and male chaperone. Please work with Coach Bryce for travel arrangements and timing.
- Spring Equinox: March 23rd at Bartlett Pool. This is an all-comers invitational. The event file is now up.
- Senior Zones Championship, St. George, Utah, April 4th - April 7th
- Alaska Swimming State Championship (Formerly Junior Olympics), Bartlett, April 26th-28th, Qualification Meet.
