March Madness- Swim meets, Swim a thon, and more

Chinook Families,

We had a great swim meet at the Chugiak Pool last Friday.  With approximately 80 swimmers participating we had newbies as well as seasoned swimmers swim best times.  Thanks to all who participated or helped at the meet.

There are so many more opportunities to compete this month.  Take a minute to mark your calendar for these dates/events:

*Wednesday, March 5th, 5pm- parent meeting at the Chugiak Pool.  This meeting will go over volunteer needs for the Chugiak Pool and ways to help out, HS swim and dive advocacy, and more. 

*Saturday, March 8th- Relay Melee- at the Bartlett Pool.  This unique, fun event will have individual races as well as mixed relay races that will be unconventional and new. Sign up today.  Maybe even some 25's will be involved for swimmers racing in relays.

*Meet in Cordova, AK- March 21 and 22- The Ice Worms have invited CAC for a dual in the pool meet.  Some are flying to Cordova, others are taking the ferry.  Housing can be provided with advanced notice.  If interested sign up today and contact Coach Anne at [email protected]. if you need more information.

*Two Major Meets in Idaho- Senior Sectionals and NWAGS.  Congrats to all our swimmers going to Senior Sectionals and Northwest Age Group Champs. Senior Sectionals is the week of spring break, and NWAGS is 19th-23rd of March.  Go Chinooks!!

*Swim a thon!!!- the pledges start today.  But the main event is March 29th. at the Bartlett pool.  Our goal is to reach $25,000.  Old school packets will be handed out at the pools but you can also start electronically to get the ball rolling.
