About Us
KNIK Learn-to-Swim is a program offered through the Chugiak Aquatics Club. It's open for swimmers ages 4+ and focuses on helping children to develop basic water skills, learning water safety, and introducing them to the sport of swimming. Lessons are 30 minutes twice each week, and we offer four levels designed to prepare students for Basic Stroke School.
Meet the Instructors!
Our amazing instructors, also called junior coaches, are talented swimmers from the senior groups of our competitive team Chugiak Aquatics Club. They are supervised and trained by fully qualified USA Swimming coaches. Each junior coach progresses through levels of training and courses that include lifeguard certification, and eventually (once they are older than 18) they can become fully certified USA Swimming coaches.
We are so proud of our junior coaches for being engaging, patient, and empathetic teachers to youngsters just learning to swim!
