STATE MEET RE-CAP

State Championships, March 22-24 at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park, WVU

States is VERY tough competition! It is intimidating but our team of 7 Sea Dragons, 5 boys and 2 girls fought hard in every race! These are the best of the best – top 1% in the State of PA! My favorite part was a group of parents and swimmers, who did not have kids competing, cheering in the stands, and holding up signs that they made. We ARE Sea Dragons!

All 3 of the boys 11-12 relay teams competed at the State meet. The relays held their own finishing as follows: 400 Free Relay, (Luke Monyok, Logan Monyok, Markus Yancheski & Michael Fuener), dropped 2:58 seconds to finish 13^th with a time of 4:10.41. The same team of boys finished 14^th in the 200 Free Relay, dropping .51 seconds with a time of 1:54 16! The 200 Medley Relay, (Matias Molina, Luke, Logan and Michael), finished 16^th with a time of 2:13.04.

Individually, Ella Brackney placed 24^th in the 11-12, 50 back with a time of 32.93 and 23^rd in the 200 back with a 2:33.39. Michael Fuener placed 18^th in the 50 free, cutting .06 seconds with a time of 27.54 . Celia Meunier finished 24^th in her 100 fly, with a time of 1:12.12 and was 16^th in the 50 fly with a 30.63! Luke Monyok swam a 1:18.49 in his 100 breast finishing 18^th. He finished 20^th in the 50 breast with a time of 36:06 and placed 22^nd with a time of 2:35.16 in the 200 IM. Luke placed 14^th in the 200 breast with a 2:48.59.
