COACHES: We are excited to have Head Coach Lauren Eusanio continue with her leadership for the 2025 Dolphins Swim Season!  Our fabulous team will remain the same, with Assistant Coaches Breanne Keane and Devon Clegg also returning. We are grateful to have them share their knowledge, experience, and creativity with our swimmers!

 

 

CALENDAR: A calendar of swim meet dates and swim club events/activities will be shared at the Parent Meeting.  The swim season runs roughly May long through August long, with swim meet opportunities each and every weekend.  Prior to the season starting:

  • Swimswear Sizing Evening (April 9, 4-8pm) - A link will be sent out with more details post-registration to sign up for a slot at the sizing evening.
  • Annual Spring Bottle Drive (date TBD - possibly mid-May?) - this is the first of our fundraisers; it is expected that all swim families participate!  It’s easy to have some fun with it, and it is a great fundraiser for the Club.
  • Parent Engagement Evening / Spring General Meeting (April 23, 7-9pm) - this is an important event to attend as it gives us an opportunity to connect! We will highlight the plans and goals for the season, review the calendar of events, and explore opportunities for parent support and involvement. More details will be provided post-registration.
  • First Swim Day - tentatively slated for Tuesday, May 20th. This is dependent on when the pool opens. 
  • Devon Swim Meet (July 4th&5th) - All swimmers are strongly encouraged to participate in our home meet, and we need all hands on deck from parents in order to host this fantastic event!

 

 

GEAR/ATTIRE:  All swimmers are responsible for having proper training equipment for practices and meets. Gear/attire are not included in registration fees, and families may purchase gear from anywhere they choose.  Note that the opportunity to purchase goggles and fins will be made available at swimwear sizing night. A DDSC swim cap will be provided to each swimmer.

  • Swim Gear: all swimmers are to have goggles, short blade fins, and streamlined swimwear (one-piece training suits or jammers).
  • DDSC Swimwear: DDSC swimwear is highly encouraged for any swimmer intending to compete regularly; all other swimmers are invited to consider team DDSC swimwear.  A bulk swimwear order will be placed by the Club shortly after the sizing event.
  • DDSC Spirit Wear: a virtual store will be made available to DDSC families with various apparel and accessory options.  Families may choose to order individually anytime, however bulk group order(s) will also be made avaiable by the Club to avoid shipping costs. 

 

VOLUNTEER OBLIGATION CHEQUES: Post-dated cheques are required as deposits for the bottle drive, volunteer contributions, and fundraising activities. Cheques will be collected in person at the Swimwear Sizing Evening.

  • BOTTLE DRIVE: $100 post-dated cheque
    • ​The bottle drive is our first mandatory fundraiser, requiring each family to drive and collect on a minimum of two assigned routes.
    • If a family is unable to participate, but can send their swimmer with another family, that group will be asked to take on additional routes.
    • This deposit will only be cashed if the family does not fully participate.
  • VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT: $150 cheque post-dated for July 5, 2025
    • ​Our how swim meet (July 4&5) is an all hands on deck event; we really need everyone to lend a hand to pull off an event of this size!
    • Details of the volunteer commitment will be presented at the Parent Engagement Evening.
    • Deposits will be cashed for families that do not participate.
  • 50/50 RAFFLE: $100 cheque post-dated for July 5, 2025
    • ​For this virtual 50/50 event, each family is required to promote and sell raffle tickets (raffle is open ~ June 1st to July 5th). The draw will be made at our Swim meet.
    • Each family is required to sell a minimum of $150 worth of tickets.
    • There will be prizes for top sellers!

 

REGISTRATION FEES: Registration fees, sponsorship, and fundraising activities are necessary to cover all coaching costs, pool rental, required ASSA membership, insurance, meet fees, and incidentals. There are support options available here for any families in need of financial assistance.  Register by April 1st to access DDSC Swimwear.

 

Please note that a late registration fee of $100 will apply after May 15th.

 

 

PAYMENT METHODS: 

  • We ask that wherever possible, payment be made via e-transfer to [email protected] (please put swimmer name and installment # in the memo)
  • The registration system will give the payment options of cheque or cash - please consider cash payment as e-transfer
  • Cheques will also be accepted and may be mailed to DDSC  #22 - 20 Haven Ave,  Devon, AB  T9G 2B9 or turned in in-person at the Swimwear Sizing Evening. 
  • Please make cheques out to 'DDSC'.

Full payment upon registration is also an option, however we know the installment option is appreciated:

Inter-Senior/Senior swimmers have the following optional add-ons, to be paid in conjunction with Installment #1. Advance registration helps us plan lanes; early registration is encouraged.

May Pre-Season Training ($20)

Swimming will be at the Beaumont Sports & Recreation Centre Pool:

May 4 & 11: 10-11am as well as May 6 & 12: 7:30-8:30pm.

July AM Training ($80)

Morning Swims will be additional 1hr practices Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings for the month of July. 

Time TBD (last year 7:30-8:30am)
