Piranhas History
2024 is our 69th year of continuous operation!
The Fort Saskatchewan Piranhas is a community-based summer swim club that had its roots begin in 1957 with the name of "Mantas". They originally practiced and competed in the Fort's outdoor pool. They moved instide when Harbour Pool opened in 1983.
The Piranhas swim in Region C and are registered with the Alberta Summer Swimming Association (ASSA). Our season beings May 1 and ends at Regionals/Provincials in mid August.
The Piranhas compete in 25 meter pools (short course) at various ASSA Region C Invitational swim meets throughout the summer.
Along with many of our swimmers holding ASSA records, we have had many Piranhas go on to compete nationally, those who have ventured forward to join winter clubs, and even some who have come back to coach our team. We are looking forward to a great swim season!
