Pool Deck Policy

For ASU Pool - Due to USA Swimming and NCAA regulations Pitchfork Aquatics has a Closed Deck Policy for all practices.  We understand that many parents will want to stay and wait for their children to complete their practice due to driving distances or time, but ask that you do so in the air-conditioned lobby (free WiFi is available) or in the stands.

Parents being allowed on deck during practice is a liability and safety issue.  Pitchfork Aquatics assumes liability for the pool area during our practices, and there are strict insurance requirements for non USA Swimming members.  The only individuals that should be on deck during a practice are the USA Swimming certified coach and non athlete members and those individuals the coaches deems necessary to assist in conducting the practice, e.g. senior swimmers helping with age group swimmers; volunteers acting as timers.  Moreover, the policy is in place to prevent distractions for the coaches as well as the athletes.

If you have questions about your child’s training or team policies, contact the coach after practice.  We wish for our organization to be united and strong, free of the related problems that may arise from the lack of communication.  At any time questions or concerns need to be addressed, we extend the offer to contact our Head Coach, Fernando Canales for swimming related topics or our club president, Rob Richardson for organizational/financial related topics.
