West Coast Open recap

Head Coach Anchie

By Daniel Camacho,

The West Open Swim meet was a challenging swim meet to gators, but they were able to perform adequately and keep gators times dropping. During three long days around 600 swimmers were present at Watermania for the West Coast Open, which hosted teams from Vancouver area and Washington (US).

This meet was a Long course meet, and for some of the swimmers it was the first time in the season they were able to experiment and adapt to the scenario of a 50 m pool. Regardless the first couple of races raised on time, the majority of Gators Athletes were able to adapt quickly and keep their times close to SC times.

As the season comes closer to summer provincial and divisional swim meets, the good performances keep going. The highlights of the weekend were:

  1. Two new club records:  13 years Girls Long course 100m breast - Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman 1:20.62                                                                                               13 years Girls Long course 200m breast - Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman  2:58.63
  2. Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman qualified the Provincial and western on 100 BR
