2023 Summer Provincial Championships recap

On July 13-17, the Swim BC Summer Provincial Championship was held at UBC. Sephora Lee, Melissa Zeng, Helen Shen, Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman, Janine Lee, Sophie Chan, Ryan Wang, Eugene Park, Kohen Lee, Nathan Lee, Ryan Man, and Freddy Ding represented Gators to compete with other six hundred athletes. That was a great experience for all our swimmers!

Highlights from the meet:

On the first day, Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman got time of 2:49.91 that placed 5th in 13-14 girls 200Breast. Her time qualified Western and Canadian Junior Championships.

Boy's relay team got 8th for 13-14 200 Medley relay: Nathan Lee, Ryan Man, Kohen Lee, Freddy Ding.

On Saturday, Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman won 3rd place in 100 Breast by pushing her best time to 1:17.27. She has qualified for 13, 14 and 15 years of Western standard and also the 13 and 14 girls Canadian Junior Championship. 

On Sunday, Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman fought hard again, winning 2nd place in 50Breast. She also qualifed for Western standards in this event and broke the club record that held by Helen Shen since this Winter Provincial. 

Nathan Lee, Ryan Man, Kohen Lee, and Freddy Ding got 9th place in the 200 Free relay.

13 years old girls 200 Breast LC: Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman 2:49.91

13 years old girls 200IM LC: Alessandra Ysabelle Guzman 2:46.16

14 years old boys 50 Back LC: Nathan Lee 33.20
