Whistler Team Travel Meet Recap

Head Coach Anchie

By coach Daniel,

People say, that there is no better place to go to ski than Whistler. Regardless, this past weekend, Gators took over and showed their talents at the Whistler Swim Meet, hosted by Whistler Sea wolfs. As part of our season, this was the first travel meet for Senior groups and some junior swimmers.

Around 180 swimmers were part of the swim meet and our 20 gator athletes did not disappoint on their performances.

Swimmers were ready to the first set of events on Saturday, after an evening road trip on Friday. The overall highlight on the first day was the way all the swimmers perform on the 400 FR, lowering their times with ease.
Sunday was no exemption for the good results, and the team performed up to expectations. With the good results in the 400 IM for some first timers, the team was able to add a strong performance in the relays.
All relays achieved better marks than the previewed time, being the 15&O Boys relays who wrapped our participation, earning first place.

On top of the pool results, positive environment within the swimmers, parents, chaperones, and coach allowed the first travel meet experience to be successful. We look certain that this year’s travel meets, for different groups, had set strong bases to replicate them.

We look forward to our athletes to close the season in a high note and be ready for summer divisional and provincial meets.

Go Gators !
