Hyack Brad Reid Memorial Invitational recap
By Coach Daniel,
Two weeks after our season debut, swimmers from our competitive Junior and Senior participated in the Brad Reid Memorial Swim Meet hosted by Hyack swim club. This was a three-day meet, from November 8th to November 10th, and had a prelims and finals format.
Friday was a good first step for our swimmers. The meet began with five key events, 100 FR, 200 FL, 100 BR, 200 BK and 400 FR. Our swimmers got their new personal best times. While every swimmer was performing up to expectations, Sophie Chan qualified her two races for the first day finals.
During the second day, Junior swimmers arrived to reinforced our participation. Saturday was a fast day, as the events were only 50 BK, BR and FL, in addition to the 200 IM. No finals were scheduled for this day, regardless Gators did their best, and the club was able to get three new divisional standards.
After the first two days, Sunday looked promising and it was. As our athletes were able to qualified to 9 finals’ spots and get two new divisional standards. Finals were full of excitement, and began with our Girls 15&O team swimming the Medley relay. Right after, swimmers perform up to level in the individual finals and improving their morning marks.
Gators swimmers showed that they were ready manage a different racing setting, with prelims and finals. We look forward to the upcoming meets and see our swimmer’s success.
