Hyack Brad Reid Memorial Invitational recap
By Coach Daniel,
After two weeks from our team’s first swim meet, the Senior group was part of Hyack Braid Memorial swim meet. The first meet with prelims and finals mode of the season was a great experience for our athletes.
From day one, our gator swimmers were ready to compete. During Friday’s prelims session our swimmers were able to achieve best times that allowed them to qualify to the evening finals sessions. By the end of the morning session a new divisional standard was achieved. At finals our swimmers were able to get new best times, after beating their earlier times. Finalist got participation on 100 FR, 200 BK and 100 BR.
The second day of the meet was designated for speed. With no finals programmed for this day the first part of the session had the 50 BK, 50 BR and 50 FL . After these events, the 200 IM and distance events (800 and 1500) were swum to closed the day. This session was not different from the first session. Athletes were able to improve the times from two weeks ago and two new divisional standards were achieved
The third day, once again, had prelims and finals. Our team was able to connect back to the great effort from the first two days. The first event, 200 BR, gave the team its first finalist of the day. Later on, another divisional standard was added to the list. On top of it our swimmers were able to qualify to 50 FR and 100 BK, finals.
It was a great work for our swimmers who started the season strong. Go gators🐊 !
