BSSC Academy is a pre-competitive program designed to develop the fundamental skills and prepare for competitive swimming. The program targets 12 & under swimmers and is divided into groups based on age and abilities. Minimum requirements to join BSSC Academy are 1. Able to swim 25 meters freestyle with side breathing, consistent strokes and flutter kick; 2. Able to swim 25 meters backstroke with consistent strokes and flutter kick.

BSSC Team is a competitive program designed to develop the skills in competitive swimming. The program targets between 8 to 18 and is divided into groups based on age and abilities. Minimum requirements to join BSSC Team are: 1. Proper skills across all 4 competitive swim strokes, including side push offs with underwater dolphin kick in streamline, flip turns, open turns, and dives off the block; 2. Able to swim 50 meters Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke; 3. Able to swim 25 meters of Butterfly with proper technique; 4. Able to swim multiple lengths with consistent skills and without stopping; 5. Willingness to take instructions and apply corrections.

Swimmers are provided with a program to match their abilities and ambitions. Physical development, proper conditioning and good health habits are encouraged. Swimmers also learn team aspects of co-operation, responsibility and leadership, as well as individual dedication, confidence and self-esteem. An atmosphere is created in which the desire for self-improvement and goal achievement motivates the individual to develop their natural abilities and to help others do likewise. 

Swimmers will be assessed for admission into either BSSC Academy or BSSC Team programs based on age and abilities.

To book an assessment, please email with swimmer’s first name, last name, date of birth and previous swimming experience. An email with an assessment schedule will be sent after the booking request email is received.

What to bring for assessment:

1. Swimsuit (No baggy shorts or beach wear)
2. Goggles
3. Swim cap
4. Towel

Swimmers should be changed and ready to swim at the beginning of the assessment. No decisions regarding group placement will be made on the day of assessment.
