Jason Huether

Chair

My name is Jason Huether and I am new to the GMAC Board. My wife Jenny and I have 2 boys that have been swimming competitively with the Marlins for the past 6 years. Nathan is 13 and Harrison is 11. I am a small business owner and hope to use my background to create new partnerships that help serve GMAC and its members in the best way possible.

Tom Hood

Vice-Chair

My name is Tom Hood and I'm new to the board, but not new to the club. I'm a Professor at Conestoga College in the Trades and Apprenticeships for the last 23 years, and an avid swimmer, cyclist, and triathlete.
I started swimming for the Marlins when I was 8 years old in 1983 until I went to University in 1992, and swam for the last 4 years.
Swimming has been a big part of my life for both fitness and competition, and I just want to ensure that everyone else has the same positive experience.

(Term 1, second year)

Rob O'Carroll

Director of Finance

My wife Jacqui and I have three kids in swimming and we've been happy to be part of the Marlins over the last eight years. I swam as a teenager, before competing in life-saving and water polo for my university. The water theme continues through my current employment with a Guelph manufacturer of water treatment equipment. I look forward to joining the board as the club continues to evolve and grow.

(Term 2, 1st year)

Tim Pasma

My name is Tim Pasma and I am the Secretary of the GMAC board. I have swam with masters clubs in Ontario and Manitoba for over 20 years and have swam with GMAC Masters since 2011.

Tara Herd

Secretary Shadow

I am a full time working, volunteering, mom to 4 and spouse to a paramedic.

Life for the Herd is a busy one whether it is at the pool or at school.
We joined the GMAC family in 2022 and have immersed ourselves in a wonderful new community.
I am looking forward to being part of the board as a director at large and helping our swim family grow.

(Term 2, 1st year)

Adam D'Oliviera

Director of Coaching

Hello! I am on my second year with the board and am looking forward to another great year. My wife and I have three competitive swimmers with the Marlins and we have been with GMAC since 2016. Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I believe it is a life skill and builds positive character. I swam competitively, taught, coached and was a lifeguard. I am now a Level 3 official. It is my hope that my background in aquatics and my experience as a manufacturing supervisor will be an asset to the board and the GMAC family.

(Term 2, 2nd year)

My wife Tammy and I have twins who have been with the Marlins for 7 years.  Our daughter retired from the Marlins after 2 years of lessons, and our son has moved through the ranks to competitive swimming.  The confidence our kids have gained from swimming with the Marlins has shown up in all aspects of their lives.  My background is in biomechanics and human performance.  I am looking forward to working with the board to continue the Marlins ability to create a positive impact on kids, their families and our community as a whole
