National Top 10 11-up SCS Top 3 10-un Congratulations to the following Armada swimmers for achieving National and Southern California Swimming recognition.  11-up swimmers are selected from the entire United States.  Since USA Swimming does not recognize 10-un swimmers nationally, 10-un swimmers are selected from our local Southern California Swimming.  Needless to say, it’s a very big deal to make these lists.  Pictured above are River Chiang, Michael Kanemitsu and Myles Tran.  Absent Bianca Preciado, Noah Samanta, Keeno Usita, Kevin Vargas, Michael Lee, William Schodorf and David Wang. 17 years ...

The 2019 Pacific Coast All Star meet was held January 5-6, between the All-Stars from Southern California Swimming, Pacific Swimming (San Francisco), Pacific Northwest Swimming (Washington), and Oregon Swimming.  The So. Cal team won the meet by over 300 points.  This is a very elite level event and our very own Michael had an incredible meet. He set 4 new Armada Club Records – 50, 100, 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke.  He did his personal best times in all but one event, and to top it all off, he...

Armada swimmers (pictured to the right) Ryan Kao, Taylor Ault, David Wang, April Martinez, and Michael Lee, just returned from Flagstaff Arizona (altitude 7,000 feet).  The camp included 34 workouts, cross training events like the High Rope Course at NAU and lots of running, ultimate, basketball and volleyball.  Coach Shipherd was excited about the possibilities ahead,  "We are as fit as we have ever been and the kids had a great time getting there."        The camp took place at Northern Arizona University.  Activities included a trip to the...

Armada Shines at Super JO’s After way too many meets over the past few weeks, it was expected that the Armada swimmers might not do their best at the Super JO Meet last weekend.  Boy, was that wrong.  Over the course of the 3 day meet, the 14 swimmers from Armada produced 31 new personal best times.  As a team the Armada set 9 new club records, won 3 events (all Kevin Vargas), three 2nd place finishes, and two 3rd place finishes.  High Point Swimmer for the Armada and swimmer...

RMDA 12809  -  LKWD 11518 We Win! It was bound to happen.  We finally get the whole team to the Metro Championships and we win by a significant margin.  The Armada swam great for what seemed like a 10 day meet – it was actually only 3 very long days.  Every day of the meet we extended our lead over our friends and rivals from Lakewood. Also, we coaches would like to thank all of our great parents for the outstanding job you did taking care of the swimmers and...

It's amazing what some swimmers will do to win a gift.  Watch what Anthony Serrano did to win a gift in Don's "Minute to Win It" contests during Winter Break Workouts.  He has a pedometer on his head and every time he shakes his head, the pedometer counts it.  The swimmer with the highest number of shakes in 1 minute wins.  By the way, he lost.  Click here to view the video.

Congratulations! To all the Armada swimmers who took on the La Jolla Rough Water swim. For most of our swimmers it was a fun and exciting first time experience, with great times and placing amongst their age groups.
