OFFICIALS DIRECTOR ROLE
The Officials Director organizes and provides officials for both hosted and non-hosted meets. This position also recruits, organizes, facilitates training opportunities, and recognizes AAST officials.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess the volunteer needs for the club for the general running of swim meets
- Recruit and recommend the appointment of volunteers to roles that suit them
- Organize the orientation and induction of volunteers for swim meets
- Work with the meet manager to organize volunteer rosters
- Identify and organize training and education opportunities for volunteers
- Ensure all swim meet volunteers for swim meets held by other clubs when required
Level of Commitment Required
The estimated time commitment required is 0.5 hours per week on average, with an increase in time required during the organizing of hosted meets.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & MEDIA ROLE
A "Director of Marketing and Media Role for AAST" is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy to promote the club's image, activities, and membership, managing all internal and external communication channels, including media relations, social media, website content, and event promotion, while ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the club's brand and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication Planning:
- Develop and implement a strategic communication plan to achieve club goals, including membership growth, community engagement, and brand awareness.
- Identify key target audiences (swimmers, parents, potential sponsors, community) and tailor messaging accordingly.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Oversee the creation and distribution of engaging content across various platforms like the club website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
- Develop compelling narratives highlighting club achievements, swimmer success stories, and upcoming events.
Media Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure positive press coverage for club activities and competitions.
- Prepare press releases, media pitches, and talking points for key spokespeople.
- Social Media Management:
- Manage and maintain the club's social media presence across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Create engaging content, schedule posts, and monitor social media interactions.
Website support:
Update and maintain the club website with current information about events, schedules, results, membership details, and important announcements.
Event Communications:
- Develop communication strategies for club events like swim meets, fundraisers, and registration periods.
- Create event marketing materials, including invitations, posters, and email campaigns.
Communications:
Communicate important club updates, news, and announcements to members and coaches through newsletters, email blasts, and team meetings.
Branding and Messaging:
- Ensure consistency in club branding and messaging across all communication channels.
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines for visual identity and communication tone.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging communication materials.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms.
- Experience in public relations and media relations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the competitive swimming landscape and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with graphic design software is a plus.
