The Lloydminster Riptides are a Competitive Year Round Swim Club

As a competitive swim club, our goal is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his/her ability. When a young person becomes a member of the Riptides, the swimmer learns the values of work ethic, commitment, setting and achieving goals, sportsmanship and team work, while gaining lifelong skills and friendships.

Swimming health benefits are enormous! Swimming helps keep your heart rate up, it is low impact on your joints, it builds endurance and muscle strength, increases cardiovascular fitness, helps maintain a healthy weight and keeps your heart and lungs conditioned.  Swimming also helps to tone muscles and helps build body strength.

Riptide swimmers strive to attain their competitive goals through training and competition. Our regular season runs from September to April with our competitive focus being on our short and long course swim meets. Athletes that achieve provincial or national time standards will train into July.  Most of all we want our swimmers to have fun in the pool and make new friends while learning to swim and compete.

We hope you become part of our team and help us to promote swimming skills, life skills, and an enthusiasm for competitive swimming. You will have the opportunity to nurture new friendships and develop as a swimmer in a unique atmosphere that you’ll be proud to belong to.
