SEAN BAKER, HEAD COACH

Head Coach Sean Baker joined MAC in 2019. His extensive 30+ year coaching career includes producing swimming champions at the provincial, national and international level including 2020 Olympic Games, 2021 FINA Worlds, 2019 Pan Am games, 2017 World Juniors and 2016 Olympic Team. Under his direction, MAC has risen in team standings in Ontario and has become a dominant force in Canadian swimming. In 2022, Sean coached MAC's largest-ever group at the Canadian Swimming Trials. He also led the Ontario contingent of Team Canada at the FINA World Open Water Championships. In 2021 he coached a MAC athlete Tessa Cieplucha to qualificiation for Canada's Olympic Swimming Team. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and won Gold in the Women's 400 IM at the 2021 FINA World Championships. He has also coached swimmers to over 20 Canadian Senior National and Age Group records and has received countless awards, including nine appointments as a coach for Team Canada. For Sean, excellent coaching is not just about producing champions. With a foundation grounded in old fashioned values and principles, his coaching philosophy is a belief in developing world class citizens and outstanding swimmers as a by-product. Coach Sean is leading MAC into a bold and exciting future, growing our program at all levels to best meet young athletes on their development curve. 

GLEN STEACY, AGE GROUP COACH

Coach Glen is in his 11th year as a MAC age group coach and his 17th year of swim coaching. A former Canadian Junior National 1500m Freestyle Champion (1996), U.S. College Swimmer and Canadian University Masters/Varsity Coach, Glen has acquired a lifetime of experience within our sport. Glen began swimming in London, Ontario at the age of six with the London Aquatic Club. He swam at LAC for 13 years, three years as a National Qualifier. Glen received a swimming scholarship and studied business at St. John’s University in New York, where he swam four years in NCAA Division 1 and was Team Captain in his senior year. Before joining MAC, Glen began his coaching career with McGill University Masters Swimming, producing Provincial and National record holders while also serving as Assistant Coach for the McGill University varsity swim team. Glen holds a Level 1 Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) certification and is working toward level 2.

HAZEM SAYED, AGE GROUP COACH

Hazem began as a swimmer at age seven, and a lifelong passion for swimming grew with him until he decided to become a Swim Coach. Hazem has been a competitive coach since 2000. He first joined MAC in 2018. With his international experience, cross-functional skills in talent management, administration, athlete and program development, Hazem thrives to develop the technical and mental sides of competitive swimming. Hazem has a degree in Physical Education, certified NCCP coach and works constantly to upgrade his skills. Leading our Discovery and Discovery Festival program, Hazem successfully boosted the performance of our youngest swimmers to qualify and excel at a competitive level. He currently coaches the MAC  Bantam/Jag group.

CARTER YEUDALL, AGE GROUP COACH

Coach Carter joined MAC in 2020. Before coming to MAC, he spent five years as an Age Group Coach with the Oakville Aquatic Club, where he was instrumental in developing young athletes to achieving regional and provincial time standards as well as breaking many club records. In addition to coaching, Carter was also a competitive swimmer for over 10 years. Carter is a NCCP Level II coach and holds an NSL certification in good standing.

Coach Martin joined MAC in 2022. Over a 30+ year career, Martin has worked in several Canadian provinces, at virtually every level of swimming, from pre-competitive and competitive age group, to senior swimmers, triathletes and Para swimmers. Under Martin’s direction, countless young athletes have had success at all levels of competition from Provincial and National Championships to International and Para World Championships. Martin has a high degree of technical knowledge, dedication and passion for coaching excellence, along with business management organizational talent that gives MAC's Olympic Prospects program the edge. Young swimmers are critically important to MAC and Martin's goal is to establish a strong foundation amongst our pre-competitive athletes while instilling a love of swimming for lifelong enrichment. Martin currently holds his National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) swimming level 2.

SIHAM MOUSSADDAQ, ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Siham joined MAC in 2022. She has 18 years experience coaching from pre-competitive to competitive and senior age group swimmers. Siham coached nine years at RHAC, six as an assistant head coach. She contributed to producing 2 Canadian Olympic trials qualifiers (2020), 2 Ontario Junior International competitions (2021) and 1 gold medal at Eastern Champs (2022). Siham was herself a professional swimmer for 11 years. She holds degrees in science & education, business management and is working toward her EMBA in April 2023. Siham's enthusiasm, patience and technical knowledge combine with her extensive education, skills and experience to help create new beginnings for eager swimmers. Siham holds an NCCP Swimming level 3 trained, National Lifeguard Certified, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
