After collecting eight medals across two competitions, Ali Diehl has been awarded April Athlete of the Month.

At the end of the month, Diehl attended the World Para Swimming Series in Indianapolis and competed in the SB9 classification, earning medals in the 100-metre breaststroke (gold – U18; bronze – women’s open), 200-m individual medley (silver) and 50-m freestyle (bronze). Her results qualified her to attend the Para swimming World Championship set to take place from Sept. 21-27, in Singapore.

Earlier in April, Diehl competed at the 2025 Canadian Swimming Open, adding four medals to her collection, including a gold in the SB9 100-m breaststroke and three bronze medals (SB9 200-m individual medley, SB9 100-m backstroke and SB9 50-m freestyle). In addition, Diehl set personal best times in four events.

Diehl was nominated by the Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club and supported by Swim Saskatchewan.
