RICHMOND RAPIDS SWIM CLUB

Swim-a-thon Results 2014

Hey Rapids!

We just had the most successful Swim-a-thon in club history! All together, we raised $13,424.50. That’s $6,000 more than last year!

First and foremost, the staff would like to thank you all for your efforts in fundraising. We’re going to use this money to make the club a better place to grow up and learn in, so that you all have the best opportunities possible to be successful.

A HUGE congrats goes out to the AGD2’s, who raised the most money per swimmer in the whole club, averaging $325! They earned a group trip to the movies during practice!  This is the second year in a row that the AGD2’s have won. Coach Dennis will contact you shortly on the date and movie selection.

Another BIG congrats goes out to our top earners - Isabella Villasenor (AGD2), Amanda McCallum (PAG1), Natalie Dewitt (RDE), and Shane Sagar (AGD2) all earned over $1,000 individually, with Shane topping the list at $1,430.

We had 61 swimmers that earned $50 or more this year, and lots of others that brought in $10 and up. Thank you so much for your efforts.

I’ve just started the ordering process for all of your prizes. Your coaches will deliver those as they arrive. Please be patient, as they’re coming from multiple sources, and it’s all custom stuff.

Not only did we have a great effort with fundraising, but we also had a great effort in the 5K itself. If you’d like to see how our Watermania swimmers performed this year, please click here for a PDF of the results.

On a side note, we realize that many of the AGD and RD swimmers did not have the full two hours for the Swim-a-thon, and were very close to finishing the 5k. We recognize that it’s important that everyone gets a fair shot at this, and we’ll make sure to do things differently next year to start on time. Please accept our apologies for those swimmers who were cut short.

Again, congratulations and thank you to all swimmers and families for their efforts over the last few weeks. This year’s Swim-a-thon was a great success, and it’s thanks to you!
